Lot #1008. Antique Natural and Ebonized Barrel-Shaped Checkers
Description Antique Boxwood & Ebony English Checkers. This offering is a vintage set of 24 Antique Natural and Ebonized Checkers. The individual checkers are barrel-shaped measure 1.3″ in diameter by 0.4″ thick. These Antique Natural and Ebonized Checkers date to around 1940. The antique folding chessboard shown is not included, but this and several other suitable boards are available elsewhere on this web site or upon request. These checkers are in excellent condition. The checkers are housed in their original rose-colored cardboard box. These Checkers should be used on a board with 2-0″ to 2-1/4″ squares.  The set does not include dice, shakers or a doubling cube. These Antique Natural and Ebonized Checkers can also be used for several other board games. Backgammon is one of the oldest board games known.
