Fresh water contains a higher concentration of dissolved oxygen, which contributes to the final taste of the tea. Add approximately 1 teaspoon of herbs per 250 ml of water. For a stronger expectorant effect, allow 6 minutes for extraction. Strain immediately and add honey or another sweetener if desired. To preserve antioxidants, avoid boiling – according to studies, infusing in hot but not boiling water better protects the essential oils.
