Oak Wood Hollow Form w/ Texture & Ebonized

This beautiful and decorative piece was made from locally sourced Oak wood in the Upstate New York region. It has been completely hollowed out and is purely for decoration. The outside has been hand carved and textured and treated with a homemade ebonizing solution that darkens the tannins inside certain wood species like oak, elm, and Cherry. A special technique was used so that certain parts of the piece were not darkened - which those lighter areas are the natural color of the wood. Every dimple was hand carved. Measurements: 9 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall Finish: Danish oil then buffed with Walnut Wax Every so often, wipe down with a microfiber towel to dust the piece. Do not use any cleaners or solvents.
