Hibiscus moscheutos (Crimsoneyed Rosemallow) is an erect-growing, clump-forming perennial that typically grows to 6.5 ft. Crimsoneyed Rosemallow blooms in summer/early fall with flowers having five petals. Hibiscus moscheutos flowers are usually white, but sometimes pink, with red centers. Crimsoneyed Rosemallow is found from New Hampshire and Illinois to Florida and California in full sun in mesic to wet soils of alluvial meadows, brackish marshes, and swampy forest edges. The nine-inch wide flowers of Hibiscus moscheutos enhance the beauty of riparian, wet meadow, and wetland mixes. Crimsoneyed Rosemallow is a member of the mallow (Malvaceae) family.
